Board of Directors Meeting March 22, 2010 - 6:30 PM
Members Present: Joan Piscitelli, Layne Lescault, Ron Pekrul, Tom Murtha, Leonard Penna (Police Department), Shay Carmichael, Rosalie Newman, Diane Savinelli.
Members Not Present: Susan Improta, Aileen Nosal, Cindy McIntyre, Jim Solomon, Jim Whitley, Maureen Birden.
Staff Members Present: Joan Bird, Beth Agen, Jessi Zeigler
Guests Present: Denise Rodriguez, Ashley Mele
1. Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 6:35 pm on March 22, 2010 by Layne Lescault in the upstairs meeting room at 17 Church Hill Road.
a)Roll Call- the roll of the Board of Directors was taken by signing in and a quorum was established.
b)Approval of February 2010Minutes - Motion made by Tom Murtha to amend the minutes to correct the Spelling of Joan Piscitelli’s name. Motion seconded by Rosalie Newman to approve minutes as amended. Motion passed unanimously.
2. Chairman’s Report
Congratulated staff and those who worked on the breakfast.
Reminded everyone of independent living day on April 24, 2010.
June 2, 2010 is the Little Sweetheart Ball
Next meeting dates are April 26, May 24 and June 28 (Annual Meeting)

Discussed Organizational Chart
Recipients of CCFSA Family Champions Award are Jessi Ziegler and Rosalie Newman.
4. Treasurers Report - See attachment titled Treasurers Report for the Seven Month Period July - February 2010
5. Reports of Committees
a) Executive/Governance/Personnel
Committee met and discussed looking for someone to handle more of the administrative tasks in the office.
b) Finance Committee - looked at policies and procedures and need revisions. Board will receive these next month. Did not get to allocation plan will do that next month. $1,200 cost for file cabinets recommended by committee to Board.
c) Development and Fundraising - Layne Lescault and Maureen Birden met about the Little Sweethearts Ball which will be going forward on June 4.
d) Long Range Planning - no report
e) Audit and Quality Improvement - no report
f) Facilities - Joan Piscitelli met with Pat Llodra about contract for building on Church
Hill Road. They will discuss again after she looks at it. Going back and forth with Kim
Burns about contract for Mt. Pleasant.
g) Nominating Committee -
Motion made by Joan Piscitelli and seconded by Tom Murtha to appoint Denise Rodriguez as the ad hoc Education Representative to the Board. Motion passed unanimously.
Discussed Board of Directors Nominations. Descriptions of positions handed out to Board.
Motion made by Joan Piscitelli and seconded by Tom Murtha to appoint Ashley Mele as the Student Representative to the Board. Motion passed unanimously.
Motion made by Tom Murtha and seconded by Rosalie Newman to make Denise Rodriguez a full Board member not and ad hoc member as previously voted. Motion passed unanimously.
6. Old Business - no old business presented
7. New Business - Need to establish criteria for awards presented at annual meeting. Tom Murtha will put these together.
8. Adjournment
7:40 pm motion made by Tom Murtha and seconded by Joan Piscitelli to adjourn. Motion passed unanimously by the Board.
